Legally Married Woman Kills Common-Law Husband for Cheating

A woman who is still lawfully married to another man has reportedly shot and killed her common-law husband after she found him cheating with another woman. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Houston police report that Debra Davis, 58, is charged with murder in the death of her common-law husband, 49-year-old Rodney Johnson.

Davis reportedly shot Johnson in his family's driveway. The family reports that he was preparing to meet with a girlfriend when Davis arrived and pulled out a gun. Johnson was pronounced dead at the hospital. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

The other woman was present at the time of the shooting, however she was not harmed. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Davis turned herself in Wednesday around 7 a.m. She was later transferred to the Harris County Jail. ⠀⠀⠀

Though Davis is still legally married, a divorce attorney told KHOU that she is in the process of getting a divorce.
