Nigerian comedian accused of murder discharged, acquitted


A court in Cyprus has discharged and acquitted a Nigerian Comedian, Osi Uduimoh, popularly known as MC Jerry over the alleged murder of a fellow Nigerian.

Jerry, was in December 2015 arrested and charged over the alleged kidnap and subsequent murder of a fellow Nigerian student, Ebinabo Mendeinyo. 
Reports then had it that the deceased had out of fear jumped from the 6th floor of his apartment building, when some unidentified boys, in company of MC Jerry confronted him.
Report had quoted a source as saying the deceased got into a fight with the boys in company of Jerry during a Christmas eve party over a Zimbabwean girl.
The North Cyprus Police reportedly pointed out that after they found Mendeinyo’s remains, there were stab wounds.
According to the report, Jerry was the first person the police arrested in connection with the murder.


Following Jerry’s arrest, Cyprus Police charged him with murder, trespassing, kidnapping and serious assault.
However, DAILY POST gathered from a liable source that, “on July 31, 2017, Prosecution filed nolle proseque and they found” Jerry “innocent after spending 19 months in detention and going to court.”
The source added, “The Judge and prosecution said they have checked all the statements, witnesses and investigation and found out he has no connection in the case and also it will be unfair to continue keeping him in detention, so he is now DISCHARGED and ACQUITTED!”
