The statement reads:

“As a result of the public release of the elevator security footage from Monday, May 5th, there has been a great deal of speculation about what triggered the unfortunate incident. But the most important thing is that our family has worked through it,” an exclusive statement to The Associated Press said Thursday. “Jay and Solange each assume their share of responsibility for what has occurred. They both acknowledge their role in this private matter that has played out in the public. They both have apologized to each other and we have moved forward as a united family.
The reports of Solange being intoxicated or displaying erratic behavior throughout that evening are simply false,” the statement continued. “At the end of the day families have problems and we’re no different. We love each other and above all we are family. We’ve put this behind us and hope everyone else will do the same.”

The 13-year-old JSS II student of Government Secondary school in Gboko and another student of Gboko High School were kidnapped by a commercial bike operator in Makurdi and taken to a forest.

Ex-Chevron Accountant Charged Over N5bn Fraud

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Thursday arraigned a former accountant with oil major, Chevron, Mr Michael Adenuga, before an Ikeja High Court over  an alleged fraudulent conversion of landed property worth N5 billion.
Michael and his company, Covenant Apartment Ltd were alleged to have fraudulently converted a 22.68 hectares of land located in the Lekki area of Lagos, western Nigeria, which he jointly owns with a Switzerland company, to his personal use. The property is valued at N5 billion.

Bomb Scare On Lagos Island

There was bomb scare Thursday morning on Tom Jones, near the ever busy Idumota market, Lagos Island, Lagos State, western Nigeria when three bags containing objects suspected to be bombs were discovered by traders.
An eye witness informed our correspondent that when the traders saw the three bags, they immediately informed the Divisional Police Officer, DPO in charge of Ebute-Ero Division, SP Barrister John Otahumele who responded immediately and took the bags away.

Jonathan rules out prisoner swap with Boko Haram

Nigeria’s President Goodluck Jonathan on Wednesday ruled out the release of Boko Haram fighters in exchange for the freedom of more than 200 schoolgirls kidnapped by the militants a month ago.
Britain’s Africa minister Mark Simmonds, who is in Nigeria for talks about the international rescue mission, told reporters that he raised the issue with Jonathan during a meeting in Abuja.
