Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho, has downplayed his side’s chances in the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals against Paris Saint-Germain and added that he would make a donation to charity, if his team overcome the Ligue 1 champions and go on to win the trophy.
“I believe that PSG will be very happy to play against us,” Mourinho told the media after Chelsea’s 6-0 victory over Arsenal.
“Everyone wanted us, therefore they must be happy to be drawn against us and we are happy because we we want to compete against the best. It is important for our evolution both as a team as an individual, notably for our young players.”
After a French journalist reminded Mourinho, that PSG players are reportedly in line for £1million win bonuses if they won the UEFA Champions League this season, the Chelsea manager said he would be ready to hand a big cheque to charity too.
He declared: “If we win it this season, I am going to make a big donation to charity!”
Chelsea will travel to Paris for the first leg, but Mourinho remains adamant that it is not to their advantage.
“Why? The return leg is always an advantage for the team that plays away, not the team that plays at home because if it goes to extra-time, the away team have thirty minutes more to score a goal that counts for double.”
