Chelsea Clear to Sign Messi For £181m

Chelsea have been cleared to sign Lionel Messi after the club received a significant boost to their Financial Fair Play cash reserves.

The Blues have been linked with a move for Barcelona ace Messi in recent months, with the player believed to be unhappy at the Nou Camp.

Jose Mourinho had said the transfer would be difficult, with Messi’s release clause set at £181million, but the Daily Telegraph reports the deal is now possible.

Mourinho has apparently been told he can make a giant signing after £40million was added to the FFP pot due to new sponsorship deals and other commercial revenue.

Messi is seen as the ideal acquisition, while Paul Pogba is also seen as a possible big money arrival.
