Roberto Cinti, 38, managed to wreck a car after mixing up the brake and throttle, and then accelerating into a shop.

But it wasn’t just any car, it was a Ferrari 599 GTO that costs £300,000 (N89m).

The Dutch owner had been waiting patiently for his car to be delivered at the Hotel Exedra yesterday after returning from a meeting with the Ferrari Owner’s Club in Anzio, Rome.

But he probably wasn’t expecting it to be the last time he saw his beloved sports car.

It’s unlikely the unnamed man will ever give a Ferrari to an attendant again but more importantly, no-one was injured despite the car having a top speed of 200mph.
