Manchester City emerges most valuable Premier League club ahead of United, Arsenal


Manchester City has emerged the most valuable club in the Premier League according to a new study.
Liverpool University football finance expert, Kieran Maguire, says Sheikh Mansour’s huge investment in City has seen them rise to the top of the pack and the Etihad side is worth a staggering £2.29billion.
Manchester United fans are behind their city rivals, as they were valued at £2.23billion.
Liverpool are significantly behind their major rivals, as they were only valued at £589million despite having the third highest wage bill.
But the latest findings, as reported by the Liverpool Echo, reveal the Merseyside club are £1.79million behind City and are the sixth most valuable club in the Premier League.
The figures for 2015/2016 calculates the clubs’ annual accounts and include income, profits, wage control, net assets and unsold seats at games, among other factors, in the valuation.
City and United were followed by Arsenal (£1.3billion), Tottenham Hotspur (£1.15billion) and Chelsea (£1.05billion).
