Manchester City pushing ahead with transfer of Alexis Sanchez after sealing Bernardo Silva deal

Man City plan to follow up Bernardo Silva signing with £50m Arsenal raid

Manchester City want to follow up the capture of Bernardo Silva with the £50 million signing of Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez, according to reports.
Silva was confirmed as a City player on Friday, joining for a reported £43 million from Ligue 1 champions Monaco.

Pep Guardiola is eager to get his transfer business done early and plans to push forward on finalising deals for several other targets.
The City boss has told the club he wants a centre-back, two full-backs, a goalkeeper and possibly a holding midfielder.

Silva’s arrival is a massive signing for Guardiola, but the Manchester Evening News claim the deal does not end City’s pursuit of Sanchez.
In fact, City are working on convincing Sanchez to join the club and become the latest in a long line of Arsenal stars who have swapped the Emirates for the Etihad.
Bayern Munich are confident Sanchez wants to sign for them and become the vocal point of their already brilliant side.

Guardiola, however, has not given up hope and will speak to Sanchez in a bid to steer him away from Germany and towards Manchester.
City are prepared to offer £50 million for Sanchez while Arsenal are not expected to block the Chilean’s move away.
Sanchez is set to enter the final 12 months of his contract with Arsenal and has so far refused to put pen to paper on a new deal.

Club director of football Txiki Begiristain and chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak promised Guardiola the funds for a huge summer of spending in a meeting.
Guardiola is desperate to prove his mettle in the Premier League after ending his debut season without a trophy and just about securing a Champions League spot.
