EFCC to recover nine Dubai properties from ex-PPMC boss

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has initiated fresh moves to ensure nine Dubai properties worth about N1.6bn, traced to a former Managing Director of the Petroleum Products Marketing Company, Mr. Haruna Momoh is forfeited to the federal government of Nigeria.

The EFCC has already obtained an interim forfeiture order from a Federal High Court in Lagos to seize Momoh’s properties.


Naija News gathered the commission has already started discussions with the United Arab Emirates with a view to seizing the properties believed to be worth between $450,000 and $700,000 each or about N1.6bn in total.

om, and Sports City, the properties, owned by Momoh are linked to several illegal transactions allegedly perpetrated by a former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke.

Both Momoh and Diezani are currently been investigated by the House of Representatives over their alleged involvement in the award of dubious contracts to the tune of $24bn to some oil firms under the controversial crude oil swap arrangement.

The EFCC would apply for the seizure through the Office of the Attorney General of the Federation and the Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty,signed between Nigeria and the UAE, is expected to make the process of forfeiture very easy, a source within the EFCC revealed.
