A woman jumped off the 40th floor of a high-rise in New York City's Upper East Side, police say.
She swayed from an opening - a window or a terrace - in the building before jumping after 10am on Sunday, witnesses told the New York Daily News.
The woman jumped from a building on E 72nd Street between York Avenue and FDR Drive, police said.
The death is being investigated as a suicide, reports the New York Post.
The woman was house-sitting for a family that was on holiday in The Hamptons, neighbors told the Post.
The family owns Nespresso, a coffee company, neighbors told the Post.
