Man Shoots Woman To Death After Mistaking Her For a Deer

On Wednesday, a western New York woman was walking her dog when she was fatally shot by a man who told police he thought she was a deer. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
According to Sgt. Josh Ostrander of the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, Thomas B. Jadlowski was the neighbor of 43-year-old Rosemary Billquist when he shot her with a single-shot pistol.

Jadlowski told officials that he was 200 yards away from Billquist when he shot her. When he discovered she wasn’t a deer he immediately called the police. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Billquist was pronounced dead after she was taken from the town of Sherman to a Pennsylvania hospital,Fox news reports.
Jamie Billquist, husband of the widower, stated she was a great person, and in love with her two dogs, Stella and Sugar.
Jadlowski has not been charged, but a criminal investigation has started and will include The State Department of Environmental Conservation since the incident is hunting related. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
New York state has a law against hunting after sundown, which was when Jadlowski shot her. Police say it is the hunter’s responsibility to know when sundown is.
