Police arrest landlady over murder of two persons in Lagos


Lagos State Police Command has arrested two persons over alleged murder of three in a church at Temu village in Ikosi Ejirin Local Council Development Area of Lagos State.

Police boss, Imohimi Edgal, who confirmed the arrest yesterday, noted that investigation has commenced over the murder.Although speculations had it that three persons were killed, Edgal confirmed they were two and that the third has been dischargedfrom the hospital.It was learnt that the incident happened at Temu community around 2:00.am, yesterday when the assailants scaled through the fence of the victims’ house to kill them.


The victims’ name were given as Iyabo, (mother), David (four), and Rachael, (eight).It was gathered that the victims had travelled out of the community for two weeks. They returned to the community on Monday and were killed over night.

The victims, said to be members of a Celestial Church of Christ, were allegedly killed in the church. While one of the victim’s husband was said to be absent when the assailants struck.It was further gathered that the victims used their home as a church.

A resident of the area, Mr. Adeshina Idowu said the death of the family took them by surprise.He said: “The family moved into the community six months ago. We were surprised when somebody informed menthat Mama David had died. When I got to the scene, the assailants had killed the woman and her two children, who were with her in their apartment.

“We have security guards patrolling the community. How they entered the victims’ compound is still a mystery .”Another resident , Tajudeen said, “Immediately the incident happened, we reported at Agbowa Police Division.

According Lagos police boss, “It is a clear case of murder. The landlady has been arrested and the commercial motorcyclist has also been arrested. One of the victim’s was watching the television throughout the night with one of the suspects. It has nothing to do with ritual killing as speculated.Policemen from Agbowa Police Division were said to have evacuated their bodies and deposited at a morgue.
