The Manchester United manager was summoned to answer accusations of non-payment of £2.9m in taxes between 2011 and 2012, while manager of Real Madrid.
Mourinho announced he had settled the accusations against him by paying a fee.
He is expected to immediately return to the UK to take Manchester United training on Friday afternoon ahead of Sunday’s game against Chelsea.
“I left Spain in 2013 with the information and the conviction that my tax situation was perfectly legal,” Mourinho said.
“A couple of years later I was informed that an investigation was opened and I was told that in order to regularise my situation I had to pay X amount of money.
“I did not answer back, I did not discuss, I paid and signed the agreement with the state that confirms everything is definitively paid.
“That is why I have been here five minutes just to tell your excellency the judge the same that I’m telling you. I have nothing else to say.”
