Funke Akindele was never contacted for “Avengers: Infinity War” movie

Few days ago, Nigeria’s cyber space went up in flames with news of Nollywood actress, Funke Akindele becoming part of the cast for yet to be released Hollywood superhero film “Avengers: Infinity War”. The actress’ name was added to the movie’s website, and given the role of a member of the Black Panther’s guards, the ‘Dora Milaje’.

However sources close to Funke Akindele, have revealed that the actress was never contacted to feature in the movie. It was gathered the stunt was pulled by a hacker, who indirectly made Funke Akindele a viral celebrity sensation when Nigerians spotted the name.


The sources further revealed that the actress couldn’t acknowledge the report after it broke on Wednesday, because no role pass was made to her. The hacker’s mess has been fixed, and that’s why she’s no longer on the cast list for the movie.

Avengers: Infinity War is an upcoming American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics superhero team the Avengers.

The movie is produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. Avengers: Infinity War is intended to be the sequel to 2012’s Marvel’s The Avengers and 2015’s Avengers: Age of Ultron and the nineteenth film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

 The film is directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, with a screenplay by Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely.
In Avengers: Infinity War, the Avengers join forces with the Guardians of the Galaxy to confront Thanos, who is trying to collect the Infinity Stones.

Avengers: Infinity War is scheduled to be released in the United States on May 4, 2018, in IMAX and 3D. The sequel is scheduled to be released on May 3, 2019.

Funke Akindele is married to husband, AbdulRasheed Bello aka JJC Skillz and the marriage has been a blessing to her.

Recall that JJC in an interview revealed that it was his daughter that advised him to marry the Nollywood actress.
