US Reacts Angrily To Abike Dabiri's 'Don't Travel' Warning To Nigerians


Dabiri-Erewa on Monday asked Nigerians to postpone their trips to the US be avoided until the Donald Trump administration’s policy on immigration is clear – a travel warning that is causing diplomatic row between the two countries.

She had alleged that the US authorities were cancelling the visas of Nigerians and deporting them on arrival.

PDP staff refuse to resume work, say they’ll be exposed to danger


The Peoples Democratic Party staff have blatantly refused to resume work, as directed by Ali Modu Sheriff, national chairman of the party. 


127 staff of the opposition party’s national secretariat in Abuja failed to show up at work on Monday. 

Following the appeal court judgment which proclaimed him chairman, Sheriff had called on all members of staff to resume work at Wadata Plaza.

An estranged wife, Modupe Daisi, on Monday told a Customary Court sitting in Aiyedun-Ekiti, that her 75-year-old husband, Sunday Owolabi, consented to her dating their farm labourer only to turn around to accuse her of adultery afterwards.
The plaintiff was seeking an order of the court to retrieve the N50,000 receipt of the farmland she bought through her husband in 2009.

Twin sisters aged 97 were both found dead of hypothermia after they slipped and fell on a driveway and were stranded there overnight.
Jean Young Haley and Martha Young Williams had been out to dinner with another sister and had returned back to Jean’s house on Friday.

Four policemen killed, one injured following accident in Lagos


Four policemen have been killed after a lorry collided with their patrol car along Shagamu road, Isiwu, Ikorodu, Lagos on Sunday. The policemen attached to the X squad of the Lagos State Police Command were reportedly chasing another police patrol van believed to have extorted money from motorists when the fatal accident occurred. According to the Nation, three policemen died on the spot, the fourth died at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) while the fifth officer, an assistant superintendent of police, sustained injuries and is being treated at LASUTH.

Abuja court sentences man to 12 years imprisonment for sexually abusing two boys


Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court sitting in Wuse, Abuja, presided over by Hon. Justice M. M kolo, has sentenced a 48 – year-old man, Shehu Abubakar, to 12 years imprisonment for sexually abusing two boys. 
The convict was dragged to Court by the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), under the Violence Against Persons Prohibition (VAPP) Act 2015.

Troops of the Operation Delta Safe have destroyed 80 illegal refineries in Bayelsa, Delta and Rivers states.

According to a statement made available to newsmen in Abuja on Monday by Maj. Abubakar Abdullahi, the Co-ordinator, Joint Media Campaign Centre, Operation Delta Safe, seven illegal refineries were destroyed in Bayelsa.
