Bill seeking punishment for sexual harassment suffers set back

The House of Representatives has suspended debate on the bill seeking to punish sexual harassment of students.

The House had to suspend the bill which was sent to it for concurrence from the Senate because it is restricted to higher institutions.

Majority Leader, Femi Gbajabiamila, while presenting the bill for second reading, on the floor of the House said the Bill needed to be expanded to accommodate other forms of sexual harassment beyond higher institutions.

The management of Arik Air says it has resolved the impasse with labour unions, which affected it operations on Thursday.

US healthcare conglomerate Johnson & Johnson has become the latest company to suspend all digital advertising on YouTube over concerns its ads may have appeared on channels that broadcast offensive videos.

J&J said on Thursday it wanted to ensure that its product advertising did not appear on channels that promote “offensive content”, a day after AT&T, Verizon, and several other major advertisers suspended their digital ads after discovering their brands had been appearing alongside videos promoting violence and hatred.
