HIV-positive track coach pleads guilty to sexually abusing students


A former Maryland school aide and track coach with HIV pleaded guilty Friday to sexually abusing students and filming child pornography.

Carlos Deangelo Bell, 30, entered a plea deal admitting guilt on 27 counts, including sexual abuse of a minor, porn charges, and attempted transmission of HIV, the state’s attorney for Charles County, Tony Covington, said, KTLA reported.

Between October 2016 and September 2017, the federation account received a total inflow of N908.9bn in Value Added Tax receipts  from the Federal Inland Revenue Service, figures obtained from the National Bureau of Statistics have revealed.

An analysis of the VAT report obtained from the NBS showed that the amount was collected from 28 sectoral activities during the period under review.

At least 25 dead in migrant shipwreck off Libya – charities


At least 25 people are feared to have drowned in a shipwreck off Libya after a dinghy, possibly carrying some 150 migrants, ran into trouble, two rescue organisations said Saturday.

“Rubber dinghy sunk north of Tripoli. At least 25 people died in the incident, exact numbers still unclear. Italian navy on the scene,” the German charity Sea Watch said on Twitter.

There was pandemonium in Jermiya village in Rafi Local Government Area of Niger State on Thursday evening as gunmen invaded the village and kidnapped a Sharia court judge, Abubakar Jibrin.
