Student allegedly murdered by police in Enugu

The Ibeagwa-Nike community in Enugu state is in turmoil after a certain policeman allegedly shot dead a student in the community.
The deceased, 27-year-old Nnabuike Nnaji was a student at the Institute of Management and Technology (IMT) in the community.

After Nnaji’s death, protesting residents turned violent and destroyed things, including burning a police vehicle.
When our correspondent visited the community, most of the youths had deserted the place in fear of police arrest.
The deceased’s father Chief Patrick Nnaji said an officer named Ndubuisi Ugwu led other officers to the venue of a traditional wedding, where they attacked Nnabuike and killed him.
The community has been experiencing unrest since 2008 when a dispute involving the traditional ruler, Igwe Emmanuel Ugwu, caused chaos
