10 Players not going to the World Cup

10.Petr Cech

The Chelsea legend will miss the World Cup in Brazil because Czech Republic failed to get out of their qualifying group with Denmark and Italy finishing in front of them. Saying that Cech has also been ruled out for 10 weeks because of surgery on his shoulder so he probably wouldn't be playing anyway!

9.Branislav Ivanovic

Another Chelsea player who will miss the World Cup is Serbia's beast of a defender Ivanovic. Serbia unfortunately missed out on a play off place to rivals Croatia leaving the Chelsea defender to have a nice holiday this summer and watch his team mates Willian, Ramires and Oscar for Brazil.

8.David Alaba

The Austrian Defender was placed in a qualifying group alongside Sweden and Germany which was always going to be tough. He was therefore unable to send Austria to their first World Cup since 1998 - although he had a very impressive qualifying campaign scoring 6 goals along the way.

7.Daniel Agger

The Liverpool centre back found it hard to break into the starting eleven for his club but he certainly helped his country in the qualifying campaign scoring four times along the way but his country were the only one's to finish second in their qualifying group and miss out on a play-off spot.

6.Gael Clichy

The Manchester City Left Back has only featured 15 times for his club side this season which is probably the main reason why he misses out this summer. He has been capped 20 times for his country who just about qualified for Brazil beating Ukraine in the Play Offs.

5.Marek Hamsik

The Napoli midfielder has scored 6 goals for his club this season but struggled to help his country qualify for Brazil this summer after Slovakia finished well behind Bosnia-Herzegovina and Greece in qualifying.

4.Christian Eriksen

The Tottenham midfielder has had a decent season scoring 7 goals in 25 appearances for the North London side but he failed to assist Denmark to achieve group qualification after they finished second and missed out on the play offs.

3.Henrikh Mkhitaryan

The attacking midfielder has been brilliant for Borussia Dortmund this season scoring 9 goals in 31 appearances and many assists along the way. Although he couldn't assist Armenia in qualifying for Brazil which his country only managing to finish above Malta in the qualifying group.

2.Gareth Bale

The Welsh midfielder has had a fantastic first season for his club side Real Madrid scoring 14 goals in 26 appearances for them. Although he might have to get used to missing out on World Cup tournaments as Wales haven't qualified since 1958 but with players like him and Arsenal's Aaron Ramsey the future is bright.

1.Zlatan Ibrahimovic

The PSG centre forward has had a great season for his club side but his national team Sweden will miss out on the World Cup after they failed to beat Portugal inspired by Ronaldo. By the way Ibrahimovic has recently said a World Cup without him is not worth watching so why should be bother anyway!
