Manchester City and Manchester United are set to go head-to-head for Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas in the summer, according to reports.
The Spanish international is believed to be available at the end of the season, despite playing a key role for the Catalan club this term.
Barcelona’s below-par performances in both La Liga and the Champions League mean the club is set for an overhaul in the summer, with Fabregas among those believed to be dispensable.
Manchester United chased the former Arsenal man last year and are said to still be keen on the 26-year-old, but City could also make a move as they look to strengthen their midfield, with Gareth Barry set to depart the Etihad at the end of the season having spent the past year on loan at Everton.
But Arsenal may also look to bring Fabregas back to north London should it become apparent he is up for grabs.
