A woman out for her morning jog made the bizarre discovery of a missing baby girl strapped into a car seat in a bush.
Eight-month-old Genesis Hailey had been there for around six hours after a man who stole a car noticed her in the back in north Houston, Texas.
He dumped the baby and the vehicle separately.
Police said Genesis appeared to be in good health but was hungry and had been bitten by ants.
Jogger Hong Nguyen told KHOU: ‘I called 911.
‘It’s my duty as a human being to do that.’
Officers are now appealing for witnesses and have released a sketch of the man they want to trace.
