Woman arraigned for stabbing hubby’s friend

A housewife,Temitope Ajayi, 28, has been arraigned before a Magistrate court sitting in Isabo, Abeokuta, today docked for allegedly stabbing and pouring urine on her husband’s female friend.
The accused was reported to have stabbed one Ganiyat Yusuf on the head for cooking for her husband while she was away.

The Police Prosecutor, Banji Sangotokun told the court that the accused stabbed and poured urine on the victim, who according to the prosecutor, has been hospitalised.
Sangotokun said the accused committed the offence on 24 June 2014 at about 2:00 p.m. at Adigbe area of Abeokuta.
The Prosecutor said that the accused and the victim were neighbours before she packed to her husband’s family house to take care of the father-in-law who was sick, but, later found out that the victim was cooking for her husband.
According to the Prosecutor, “the victim is in the hospital where she was admitted due to injury sustained during the violence.
The offence is contrary to and punishable under Section 335 of the Criminal Code Laws of Ogun State, Nigeria, 2006, he said.
The accused pleaded not guilty to the one count charge of stabbing levelled against her.
The Presiding Magistrate, Anthony Araba granted the accused bail in the sum of N50,000 with one surety in the like sum, while the case was adjourned to 25 August 2014.
