Man jailed after calling and texting ex girlfriend 21,807 times in 10 months

Trying to reconnect with an ex who wants nothing to do with you is a tricky game, but the first
rule in the book is definitely do not phone and text them 21,807 times within 10 months.
One man in France somehow managed to look past this rule and has been jailed as a result of his unbelievable harassment of an ex-girlfriend.

The unnamed defendant was given a ten-month sentence (six months of which was suspended) and fined €1,000 (£793) for calling and texting the woman 12,807 times to demand that she thank him for fixing up her flat.
Just to put this into context, that averages out at 72 contacts a day.
The man admitted in court that in hindsight ‘it was stupid’.
You think?!
‘At the time, my logic was that until she returns the money … or at least says thank you, I would not stop the calls,’ he told the court in Lyon.
The 32-year-old woman changed her number, however this just lead to the man contacting her parents.
She eventually met with him to thank him for the work he did on the apparently they shared when they were a couple, which reportedly brought an immediate stop to the calls and texts.
However authorities still wanted to prosecute the man, who was also ordered by the court to undergo psychiatric treatment and is barred from all contact with the woman he harassed.
