Serie A giants Juventus are believed to be planning a January move for Manchester United’s Juan Mata.
The Spaniard only moved to Old Trafford nine months ago in a £37m switch from Chelsea, but has struggled to replicate the form which saw him crowned Blues’ Player of the Year in 2012 and 2013.
And with new boss Louis van Gaal bringing in Angel Di Maria on a British transfer record this summer, the door could be open for Mata to depart.
Juventus are said to be showing a keen interest in the former Valencia man, according to the Mirror, with a deal especially enticing as he will still be eligible to play in the Champions League, as Manchester United are absent from European competition this season.
A move could also help Man United recoup some of the mammoth £150m they splashed out over the summer, with Van Gaal ready to bring in more players when the transfer window reopens.
