A total of 22 traders perished in a fatal accident along the Tunga Giwa – Ruwa road in Shanga Local Government Area of Kebbi, claimed the lives of 22 traders on Monday March 20th.
According to reports, the accident occurred when a van carrying traders returning from Tungan Giwa market somersaulted and caught fire while trying to avoid a pothole. The van hit a motorcyclist who also died in the accident.
All 22 traders who were on board the van died and were buried in a mass grave yesterday in a funeral attended by the state governor, Abubakar Bagudu.
Eight other persons who sustained injuries in the accident are presently receiving treatment at the Yauri General Hospital. Photos of them below….
