Sean Dyche says Burnley are in a “strong position” over defender Michael Keane despite speculation linking him with Manchester United and Liverpool.
Keane, 24, has one year remaining on his contract at Turf Moor and sources told ESPN FC last month that both United and Liverpool were interested in the England international, who came through the youth academy at Old Trafford.
“The fact is, all parties are in the loop,” Burnley boss Dyche said. “I am, his agent, he is, his family, our club, and the one thing we know is we’re in a strong position.
“He’s got a year to run on his contract, and if nothing happens that is suitable for us, the situation will go on and he’ll carry on playing.
“We’ll wait and see what the summer brings.”
Burnley chairman Mike Garlick told talkSPORT on Sunday that his club have not received any bids at this stage.
“All we hear at the moment is lots of talk and noise in the media about different clubs,” Garlick said.
“No one has formally approached us, so he’s a Burnley player — and will continue to be so.”
