AC Milan contact Chelsea over potential Diego Costa transfer move

Chelsea in talks with Euro giants over surprising summer transfer

AC Milan have contacted Chelsea to enquire about the possibility of signing unsettled striker Diego Costa, reports say.

Costa impressed for the Blues this season, scoring 22 goals as the club stormed to the Premier League final and finished runners-up in the FA Cup.

But the Spain international was heavily linked with a controversial exit in January and admitted last week that he may leave Stamford Bridge in the coming months.

Atletico Madrid are said to be expressing interest in the goalscorer but, according to Gianluca Di Marzio, Italian giants AC Milan have joined the race to sign Costa.

It is claimed the 28-year-old, who joined Chelsea in 2014, would rather join Atletico as the La Liga outfit qualified for the Champions League.

However, the fiery forward may yet decide to extend his stay at the Premier League champions, with the club believed to be mulling over a new contract.
