A UK couple who married as man and wife 21 years ago are set to renew their vows as two women after the husband had a sex change.
Denise and Kristiana Taylor who live in Sittingbourne, Kent, with their 14-year-old son, Stephen, have been together since 1996.
The couple renewed their vows in 2012 after more than 15 years of marriage, but just days later, former Royal Navy sailor Kristiana told Denise he wanted to have a sex change.
Kristiana broke down in tears just three days after the ceremony as they discussed Denise’s dress, which prompted her to come out as trans.
According to DailyMail, Kristiana says she knew she was different when she was eight years old, but did not know why.
The couple named their son after Kristiana’s former self – Stephen. They are renewing their vows as Mrs and Mrs Taylor on August 17 and will both get to wear wedding dresses this time.
