PSG in talks with Monaco over Kylian Mbappe’s loan move

Paris Saint-Germain are in talks with Monaco over a season-long loan deal for Kylian Mbappe with an agreement to buy the striker next summer, according to Sky sources.

It is understood the deal includes Lucas Moura heading to the French Ligue 1 champions the other way, but Sky Sports News understands PSG and Monaco are far from an agreement at this stage.

PSG signed Neymar in a world-record £200m transfer from Barcelona earlier this month and must comply with UEFA’s Financial Fair Play (FFP) rules.

It is believed a loan move for Mbappe this season would assist the French club in meeting UEFA requirements.

Sky in Italy has reported that the overall deal involving Mbappe and the Brazilian Moura is worth around £128m.

Mbappe has been the subject of intense transfer speculation all summer, with interest from a string of top clubs including Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester City, Liverpool and Arsenal.

But Monaco said last month there would be “no more departures” from the Ligue 1 champions after an exodus of top stars and further interest in Thomas Lemar, Djibril Sidibe and midfielder Fabinho.

They also denied they had received a world record £161m offer from Real for the 18-year-old Mbappe, who has shot to the top of world football in a single season.

Mbappe scored 26 goals and added eight assists last season as Monaco were crowned champions and advanced to the last four of the Champions League.

And Monaco have said they want him to sign a new contract, with talks having been held over fresh terms.
