Police Nab Woman with 187 Bags of Indian Hemp

The Nigeria Police Force has arrested a woman, Doris Ossai, with 187 bags of substance suspected to be Indian hemp in Masaka, Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.

Spokesperson for the NPF, Jimoh Moshood, disclosed this while addressing journalists in Abuja, the country’s capital, on Friday.


According to him, the arrest followed a coordinated operation by the Inspector-General of Police’s Special Tactical Squad, adding that efforts were being intensified to apprehend other suspects.

Ossai, while speaking with journalists, denied the allegation, maintaining that she was a fish seller and owner of the house where the substance was found.

She said the house was rented by one Monday Osaze, who told her that he wanted to move in with his family.

Moshood disclosed that the suspect would be charged to court as soon as investigation was completed.
