A Kansas man has been accused of trying to buy a little girl with cash and drugs so he could have sex with her and then impregnate her and keep the baby.
Ernest Merle Anziana was indicted on Tuesday by a Franklin County grand jury on human trafficking charges.
Franklin Assistant Commonwealth Attorney Zach Becker said the 48-year-old man was arrested after the Kentucky Attorney General's Cyber Crimes Branch launched an investigation pretending that there was an 11-year-old girl for sale, the Lexington Herald-Leader reports.
Anziana took the bait and allegedly tried to purchase the child for $250 and a quantity of crystal meth.
Becker said Anziana's intent was to have sex with the girl and 'impregnate the 11-year-old and keep that child as well'.
He was also indicted on five counts of unlawful use of electronic means to induce a minor to engage in illegal activities, according to the Lexington Herald Leader. Becker said the devices used to 'procure' the little girl included a cellphone and a tablet.
Anziana is currently being held in Kansas awaiting extradition to Kentucky on a $250,000 bond. If convicted, he faces up to 20 years in prison.
According to records by the Kansas Department of Corrections, Anziana has three prior convictions for aggravated incest.
