Governor’s Aide Saves Armed Robber From Being Killed By Crowd In Uyo

The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Technical Matters and Due Process, Elder Ufot Ebong has said that jungle justice is a disregard for rule of law and order in the State. Elder Ebong stated this yesterday when he saved one suspected armed robber from being lynched by angry mob after they had robbed a filling Station along Oron Road in Uyo, Akwa Ibom state.

Report has it that two others had already escaped while one was caught with guns and money.

It was gathered that the thief was caught by angry youths from the area after he and two others now at-large had succeeded in their operation.

Luckily he would have been killed when he was caught if not for the Senior Governor’s Aide timely intervention.

The scene created gridlock along the busy road as angry mob who made frantic effort to mete out‘ jungle justice’ on the suspected criminal was turned down when the Governor’s Aide whisked the suspected criminal away and handed him over to E Division, Shelter Afrique Police Station.
