According to ESPN,
the Championship side have trumped a number of their league rivals by agreeing
a deal with the Blues.
Palmer,
19, is seen as one of Chelsea's brightest prospects and was an unused
substitute in the Premier League on two occasions last season.
He
scored five goals in 17 appearances for Chelsea in the Under-21 Premier League and
played a key role in their UEFA Youth League triumph.
Palmer was part of England's
triumphant Under-21 squad at the Toulon Tournament and enjoyed a dream campaign
last season.
Speaking
after the tournament, he said: "It’s a great honour for me and my family
and it was a great end to the season.
"I
won the Youth League this season as well, so to win something with England was
great as well, especially on my first time with the U21s as well.
"It’s been a good experience and the
boys have been great, on and off the pitch."
Terriers
boss David Wagner has been a busy man in the transfer market this summer and
yesterday completed a season-long loan deal for Liverpool keeper Danny Ward.
