Former Chile and Marseille coach Marcelo Bielsa today resigned just two days after being appointed manager of Serie A club Lazio.
The enigmatic Argentine boss has been linked with the vacant Argentina National Team post and probably could have dealt with the situation much better.
Lazio released an irate statement on their website and look set to launch legal proceedings against the 60-year-old coach.
“We note with surprise of the resignation of Mr Marcelo Bielsa, also on behalf of its employees, in clear violation of the commitments undertaken with the contracts signed last week and regularly deposited with the League and the FIGC with their required procedures.
“The Company reserves all actions to protect its rights. Entrusts the management of the team, currently in pre-season training, to Mr Simone Inzaghi.”
Renowned for his attacking style of football, drama and excitement is never far away from Marcelo Bielsa.
