Monaco midfielder Thomas Lemar is Arsenal’s number one target in this summer’s transfer window with the Frenchman valued at around £25million.
The France international joined Leonardo Jardim’s side from Caen in 2015 and has established himself as one of the most exciting talents in Ligue 1.
The midfielder’s scored 12 goals in 46 appearances for high-flying Monaco this term and won his first international call-up last Autumn.
Wenger, 66, is set to stay on at the Emirates and knows he must invest heavily to show he can turn things around at the club.
Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil are yet to commit their futures to the club but Wenger wants Lemar to show that the Gunners can bag top talent.
Monaco are reluctant to let the Frenchman go but a bid of around £25million could tempt the club into selling one of their key assets.
