Nigeria defender Efe Ambrose will most likely be sanctioned by his Scottish club Hibernian after he failed to resume for the pre-season training, his coach Neil Lennon has disclosed.
The manager said Ambrose was given an extended summer break, but Lennon revealed he can’t get in touch with the player who ought to have returned to work by now.
“There’s no sign of Efe, so he is in a bit of trouble. I can’t get a hold of him at all. He was given a wee bit of time off but he is pushing the boundaries now,” Lennon reported.
“The sooner he is back, for his sake, the better.
“It will be discussed behind closed doors so he’s got that to look forward to when he gets back.”
The former Celtic player has missed all of Hibernian’s pre-season games.
Ambrose signed a two-year deal after an impressive display during his loan spell at the club last season.
