Groom, others freed in Ondo

The Ondo State Police Command has reportedly rescued three victims in a bush at Oba-Akoko in Akoko Southwest Local Government Area.

The three were among five persons abducted penultimate Thursday by gunmen during their journey from Southeast to Abuja.

The police said they also rescued a groom, Moses Yakubu, and his friend, who were abducted eight days ago at Akunnu on their way to Akure for an engagement.
Police spokesman Femi Joseph said the police were trailing the abductors.

He said the police would rescue the others.

Suspected gunmen reportedly abducted Yakubu, his bride, best man and two others last Sunday.
They were said to be on their way to Akure from Okene in Kogi State, for an engagement.
They held the groom, and others but freed the bride and her younger sister.
