Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin Are Officially Divorced

They had a "conscious uncoupling" two years ago, but now Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow are officially divorced.

The couple reached a divorce settlement in May and their judgement was entered at a Los Angeles County court yesterday, People magazine have reported.

Chris and Gwyneth confirmed the end of their decade long marriage in March 2014 with a post on the Iron Man star's Goop blog.

The title - "Conscious Uncoupling" - caused much mocking of the couple and went straight into the urban dictoinary.

The statement at the time read: "We have come to the conclusion that while we love each other very much we will remain separate.

"We are, however, and always will be a family, and in many ways we are closer than we have ever been."

They weren't lying either.

The couple were enjoying a family holiday with their children Moses, 10, and Apple, 12, when news of the split broke and they have continued to spend time together in the two years since.

Gwyneth was even at Glastonbury Festival last month to watch Chris headline the Triangle stage with Copldplay.

Speaking about their close relationship, the actress recently told BBC News' Hardtalk she said: "As anybody who has been divorced knows, you have to put a lot aside to maintain the family and the practicalities of what that might mean and sometimes that's quite tough on a personal level.

"It's a commitment I make every day to my children and their father even though we're not in a romantic relationship."
