Juventus are closing in on a sensational £58.2million swoop for Gonzalo Higuain from Serie A rivals Napoli.
The Italian champions could even meet the £78.2m release clause for the Argentina striker according to La Gazetta dello Sport, with Roberto Pereyra and Rolando Mandragora moving to Naples to make up £23.3m of the fee.
The astronomical amount of money involved the move could be a sign that the Old Lady are planning for life without Paul Pogba, as the Old Lady plot how to spend the £100m windfall from the sale of the French star.
However the £23m departure of Alvaro Morata and Simone Zaza's proposed £20m move to Wolfsburg mean Massimiliano Allegri may not have to offload Pogba to find funds for the new striker.
Higuain scored an incredible 36 goals in 35 Serie A games last season as Napoli finished second to Juve, and the side from southern Italy are reluctant to let the 28-year-old leave.
Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis is believed to be set against the transfer, and his son believes the deal won't happen.
'It's just a hoax, you mustn't believe everything,' De Laurentiis jr told fans, as reported by TuttoNapoli.
Higuain has been a long-time target for Arsenal, but according to the Italian media the deal is almost set in stone.
