Chelsea to hold talks with Tiemoue Bakayoko

Man Utd target to hold talks with Antonio Conte before completing £37m transfer

Chelsea are closing in on a £37 million deal for Tiemoue Bakayoko as the Monaco midfielder is due to hold talks with Antonio Conte, according to reports in France.
Foot Mercato claim that the Premier League champions are in pole position to sign the France international ahead of Manchester United and Liverpool, and the 22-year-old will personally speak with the Chelsea manager before completing his transfer to Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea have offered the midfielder a five-year contract but have yet to fully finalise a fee with this season’s Ligue 1 champions.
Chelsea are willing to use Charly Musonda as part of the deal in order to lower the £37m transfer fee but Monaco are unhappy with their £17m valuation.

As a compromise, Chelsea are willing to allow the 20-year-old midfielder to leave for a lower fee but will demand a first refusal option if Monaco ever decide to sell the player.
Musonda returned to Chelsea last December after his loan at Real Betis was cut short due to a knee injury. The 20-year-old trained with the first team but did not manage to make an appearance under Conte.

Monaco, however, are keen on signing Michy Batshuayi on a season-long loan after the Belgian struggled to secure regular football in his first season at Stamford Bridge.
