Chelsea striker Diego Costa‘s transfer to AC Milan is in some doubt but the player’s agent Jorge Mendes reportedly hopes to offer his client to the club again this week.
The 28-year-old is holding out for a return to Atletico Madrid this summer, but has also been in talks over a move to the San Siro after being told he has no future at Stamford Bridge and with his former club being under a transfer ban until January.
Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has made it clear that he’s planning for life without Costa next season after messaging the Spain forward and seemingly targeting a move for Everton’s Romelu Lukaku as a replacement.
However, Milan are unsure over doing a deal for Costa due to his age, wage demands and apparent desire to move to Atletico above all other offers.
The Portuguese agent is one of the most influential in world football, and also represents big names such as Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo and Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho.
Mendes reportedly has the chance to meet with Milan later this week and is eager to get Costa out of Chelsea after a difficult start to his summer.
