Players to Avoid in Week 2

The fantasy draft is the best part of the entire NFL season, and you can recreate that joyous day every week on DRAFT. You and your friends are able to draft a completely new team every week of the NFL season to see who can accumulate the most fantasy points. This essentially eliminates the risk of injuries and job demotions that are present in year-long fantasy leagues. These are the four players you will want to avoid when selecting a new team on DRAFT before the start of Week 2 of the NFL season.

Kirk Cousins

Kirk Cousins was one of the most consistent quarterbacks in the NFL over the last few years due to his high volume of passes, but the losses of DeSean Jackson and Pierre Garcon may hurt his value this year. Despite throwing the ball 40 times in Week 1, Cousins was only able to get 240 yards and one touchdown against the Philadelphia Eagles. He faces a much tougher matchup this week when the Redskins go on the road to play the Los Angeles Rams. The return of Aaron Donald spells doom for Cousins and the rest of the Washington offense. There are simply too many solid quarterbacks in the league to take a risk on Cousins in this horrible matchup.

Dez Bryant

Dez Bryant is one of the most talented wide receivers in the NFL, but he has a tendency to disappear when covered by an excellent cornerback. Bryant was shut down by Janoris Jenkins in Week 1, and he will get another tough matchup this week against Aqib Talib or Chris Harris of the Denver Broncos. The Dallas Cowboys will likely be forced to rely on their excellent rushing attack to move the ball this week. Since he will get limited opportunities against an amazing corner, it is easy to predict another disappointing week from Dez Bryant.

Isiah Crowell

Big things were expected of Isiah Crowell after his breakout season last year, but fantasy owners may have to wait one more week before they see a big game out of the Cleveland running back. Crowell averaged less than two yards per carry in Week 1 against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The struggles to find open running room will continue in Week 2 when the Browns play the Baltimore Ravens. Baltimore completely embarrassed an excellent Cincinnati offense in their first game, so they should not have any troubles shutting down Cleveland this Sunday. Isiah Crowell should be one of the league leaders in rushing yards at the end of the season, but there are too many better options to have him starting on your fantasy team in Week 2.

Kerwynn Williams

Kerywynn Williams is set to become the starting running back for the Arizona Cardinals after David Johnson dislocated his wrist. Williams may be an enticing player this week, but he is only going to disappoint his fantasy owners. David Johnson was able to overcome the horrible blocking from the Arizona offensive line, but Kerwynn Williams does not have the same elusive rushing skills. The Cardinals are also likely to use a committee approach at the running back position without Johnson. Williams, Andre Ellington and the newly-signed Chris Johnson will all likely see carries this week against the Indianapolis Colts. It may be best to completely avoid the Arizona backfield until David
Johnson returns later this season.
