The judge, Mohammed Marafa, however, gave the convicts; William Patience, Dickson Haruna, Hans Natoms, Luka Dasen, Pankyes John and John Pricilia, N50,000 option of fine each.
Marafa said all the convicts were mature and committed the crime intentionally to cause financial loss to the Federal Republic of Nigeria and gains to themselves.
Patience, Haruna, Natoms, Dasen, John, and Pricilia, were convicted and sentenced on charges of a joint act, using forged documents and giving false information.
The prosecutor, Babajide Olanipekun, had told the court that Patience and Haruna, presented Dickson Haruna as Seargent William Makudanogun at the Military Pensions Board.
He added that John and Pricilia also presented Luka Dasen as Cpl. John Dasel to the Military Pensions Board with forged documents.
He said the convicts intentionally used forged documents as genuine ones with the intention of causing financial loss to the Nigerian Government knowing that Dasen and Haruna had never served in the Nigerian Military.
The offences contravened Sections 79, 179, 366 and 140 of the Penal Code.
