PDP Chairman Shot Dead In Ebonyi


TWO persons were reportedly shot dead in the early hours of Saturday by unknown gunmen in the state.

The victims include a middle aged man, Mr. Mike Ojor in Ikwo Nnoyo in Ikwo local government area and the Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Ishielu LGA of the state, Mr. Emeka Nworie.

APC Accuses Oba Of Hijacking Election Materials In Ondo


A first class monarch in Ondo State, Oba Fredercik Obateru Akinruntan, has been accused of hijacking the materials for the governorship and House of Assembly elections in the state. The allegation was levelled by the All Progressives Congress in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed. Akinruntan, who is the Okoro Ajiga 1 of Ugbo Kingdom, was alleged to have hijacked the materials in Ilaje Local Government Area. He allegedly did it in collusion with the Peoples Democratic Party. His son is a candidate of the PDP for the House of Assembly.

Couple Burnt To Death In Lagos After Power Surge


Lagos – Tragedy struck in Lagos in the early hours of Saturday, as a young couple was burnt to death in their apartment.
The victims, simply identified as Ayo and Jumoke, were said to have died in the fire which razed their apartment at 34, Associate Crescent, Abimbola Awoniyi Estate, New Oko-Oba area of Agege.

APC Cries Out Over Alleged PDP-Instigated Violence, Voting Disruptions In Lagos

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has alerted the security agencies to cases of violence and disruption of voting in several areas of Lagos, Rivers and Ondo states, urging them to swing into action to ameliorate the situation.
In a statement issued in Lagos on Saturday by its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the party said in many parts of Lagos, thugs armed by the PDP are on rampage, shooting sporadically to scare away voters and carting away voting materials.
It said the development confirmed earlier statements by the APC that the PDP has been engaging in gun running in Lagos, with a view to arming thugs to disrupt the polls.

12 Year Old Underage Voter Causes Argument among Party Agents in Keffi


A minor who showed up at the Kofar Pada polling unit in front of the Emir palace in Keffi, Nasarawa State, stirred up a heated argument between agents of political parties participating in today’s governorship and state assembly elections, leading to scuffles.

The boy of about 12 whose name Daily Trust decided not to mention, divided opinion among agents of the PDP, APC, and APGA as well as Accord party, Shehu Kassim Yamusa, Auwal Shauibu,, Monday Yohanna, and Yusuf Shuaibu, respectively, leading to a shouting match before security personnel, polling officers, and a European observers team.
