Father burns son with iron, ties him to window after church leader said he was a wizard

A father of five, Austin Segun, who tied his 13-year-old son to a burglar-proof for three days because a Church leader said the boy was a wizard, has been given an ultimatum to leave Eruemukohwarien community, Ughelli North LGA of Delta State.

Mr. Segun was said to have been released on bail after he was arrested and detained at the Ughelli ‘A’ Division Police Station over the incident. The victim, Tobi Segun, who just finished his Primary 6 School Leaving Certificate exams, was rescued by a group of vigilante, who heard him whimpering at about 2a.m.

Joseph Odeh, a 37-year old man has successfully broken the bond between two sisters after impregnating his sister in-law.

According to reports, Odeh, impregnated his sister-in-law, Joy, in Akwanga, Nasarawa State due to his wife Maria's inability to bear kids.

12 inmates escaped from the Walker County Jail in Jasper, Alabama on Sunday evening, leading to a massive manhunt and the recapturing of eight of them, authorities said.

Walker County Jail officials said that 12 inmates escaped at around 9:30 p.m. local time. Authorities have not said how the inmates were able to escape the prison.

Akinsipe, a resident of Ogba, Ikeja, is standing trial on a one-count charge of stealing.

The Abia State Police Command has arrested and detained two security operatives involved in Saturday’s shooting of two officials of Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, in Aba.

Roadside explosion in Egypt kills four policemen

Four Egyptian policemen were killed and six wounded on Monday by two roadside explosives in the restive Sinai Peninsula, security sources told Reuters.

The sources said that the four policemen were killed in the city of Arish, the capital of North Sinai province, when their armored vehicle drove past a roadside bomb and three others were wounded.

60-year-old woman bags six months for burglary in Lagos

A 60-year-old woman, Adegunwa Adejoke, was on Monday sentenced to six months imprisonment for breaking a shop with the intent to steal, an Ikorodu Magistrates’ Court in Lagos State ruled on Monday.

Adejoke, a resident of Agbowa-Ikosi in Ikorodu area, had pleaded guilty to the three-count charge of conspiracy, housebreaking and burglary brought against her.
