Liverpool are set to make a final ‘take it or leave it’ offer for Southampton captain Adam Lallana following weeks of stalemate talks.
The Reds have made Lallana their number one transfer target this summer, but have so far seen bids of £20million and then £23million rejected by the St Mary’s club.

The homeowner, who has not been identified, arrived at her Atlanta home on Friday evening to find extensive damage and her floor covered in water.

Polytechnic student to die by hanging for robbery

A 22-year old student of Delta State Polytechnic, Eguono Akpeghughu, has been sentenced to death by hanging by a Warri High Court in southern Nigeria, for armed robbery.
Akpeghughu who was found guilty on a two-count charge of conspiracy to commit armed robbery and armed robbery,‎ was said to have robbed his victim of cash and other valuables worth over N30, 000.

Gov. Amaechi Arrested And Detained By Soldiers In Ondo


The Rivers State Government has issued a statement saying its governor, Rotimi Amaechi has been arrested and being held hostage by security operatives in Odudu, Ondo state.
The governor, the statement said, was arrested as he made his way to Ado-Ekiti for a political rally by his Ekiti State counterpart, Kayode Fayemi.

Italy to assist Nigeria against terrorism

The Italian Government on Wednesday in Abuja declared its support and willingness to assist Nigeria in the fight against terrorism.
The Italian Ambassador to Nigeria, Fulvius Rusticu, gave this pledge during a courtesy visit to the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Prof. Viola Onwuliri.

Nigerian Government drops N100 billion stolen funds charges against Abacha


The Federal Government on Wednesday withdrew the corruption charges filed against Mohammed Abacha, son of former dictator, Sani Abacha.

The government had accused Mohammed of receiving stolen property worth N100.38 billion. The money is believed to have been stolen by the late dictator when he was the Nigerian head of state from 1993 to 1998.

The Adamawa State House of Assembly has commenced impeachment proceedings against the state governor, Murtala Nyako, and his deputy, Bala Ngilari.

Charles Taylor Sues UK Government For Denying Him Right To Family Life


African warlord serving 50 years in prison for crimes against humanity is suing Britain for denying him the right to a family life. Charles Taylor, the former Liberian president who reportedly ate the hearts of his enemies, says his incarceration in a jail in county Durham keeps him from his wife and 15 children in Africa.

The UK agreed to imprison Taylor, 66, after he was convicted in 2012 of 11 counts of war crimes and crimes against humanity, including terrorism, murder, rape and using child soldiers during a civil war in Sierra Leone in the 1990s that left tens of thousands of people dead.
