Freed Lagos pupils begin trauma therapy


The freed six pupils of the Lagos State Model College, Igbonla, Epe, have commenced therapeutic treatment ,to relieve them of the trauma of their captivity.

The children were debriefed for about four hours on Monday at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja.

Man ‘marries’ his laptop, sues for state recognition and a wedding cake


A man who married his laptop is suing the state for his wedding to be recognized with a wedding cake .

Chris Sevier says that if same-sex couples are able to get married and demand that Christian bakers make them wedding cakes, then he should be allowed to marry his laptop and demand a cake to celebrate the union between one man and one machine.

Ronaldo denies tax fraud at court hearing


Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo denied hiding millions of euros in income at a court hearing near the Spanish capital on Monday where he was charged with tax evasion.
The Portuguese — the world’s highest paid sportsman according to Forbes magazine — is the latest football star to fall foul of Spain’s taxman.
He follows in the footsteps of his arch-rival, Barcelona forward Lionel Messi, who was found guilty of the same offence last year.

Police uncover shrine with graves, arrest traditional ruler over Badoo killings


Following the gruesome murder of four family members at Ibeshe, Ikorodu on Sunday, the Lagos State Police Command has arrested the Baale of Ipakodo, a town on the outskirt of Ikorodu and the three others.
The command has also uncovered a shrine in the area believed to be the domain of the dreaded Badoo cult group. The operation, which was carried out in the early hours of yesterday, was led by Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of operations, Imohinmi Edgal.

Amaechi must be probed, Wike insists


Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has said that there exists evidence of corruption against the immediate past administration of Chibuike Amaechi.
Wike told Rivers State Council of Traditional Rulers in Port Harcourt yesterday that Amaechi admitted paying $39 million for a non-existent Justice Karibi Whyte Mega Specialist Hospital and sold the state’s gas turbines.
