Hannah, a native of Benue State, has been killed by her lover, Matthew.
 
Obviously when Hannah moved in with Matthew a few years ago, she had hoped that they would become husband and wife.
 
According to Daily Sun, after bearing three female children in quick succession for Matthew, the Tiv native had hoped earnestly that her fourth pregnancy would bring a male child, so that, perhaps, Matthew would do the needful and formally make her his wife.

UK Police Declares Nigerian Man, Gbenga Ajibade Wanted for Fraud Offences


The United Kingdom police has announced a nationwide search for a Nigerian male of Yoruba descent named Gbenga Ajibade over allegations of financial crimes.
 
The offences were reportedly linked to Kent and Birmingham in Britain. The announcement made on Twitter included a number that should be called by members of the public if they have any information about his whereabouts.

The Nigeria Union in South Africa, on Wednesday claimed that two communities in the country, have asked Nigerians to leave their territories.
President of the union, Ikechukwu Anyene, said the Kuruman community in Northern Cape Province gave Nigerians till Thursday to leave.

Two men charged for gay sex, affray in Lagos


Two men — Promise Oluwabunkenoye and Kehinde Abiola — on Wednesday appeared before a Surulere Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos charged with anal sex.
The accused — ‎Oluwabunkenoye, 24, and Abiola, 29 — whose addresses are unknown, are facing a two-count charge of same-sex having sexual intercourse and fighting in the public‎.
‎The duo, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Man Beats His Own Wife Then 'Abducts' Their Son in Lagos


Opeoluwa Olorunjuedalo, a 32-year-old electrician, who allegedly kidnapped his son after beating his wife for refusing to hand over his son to him, was on Wednesday brought before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court.
 
Vanguard reports that Olorunjuedalo, who resides in Akute, a border community between Lagos and Ogun, is facing a two-count charge of breach of peace and assault.

FG Arraigns 5 Men Who Allegedly Imported 661 Pump-action Rifles Seized by Customs


Five men who allegedly imported 661 pump-action rifles into the country without lawful authority have been arraigned by the Federal Government before a Federal High Court sitting in Lagos before trial judge Justice Ayokunle Faji. 
 
The accused are Mahmud Hassan, Oscar Okafor, Donatus Achinulo, Matthew Okoye, said to be at large, and Salihu Danjuma. In the charge, the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice said that the accused brought the rifles into the country from Turkey through the Apapa Port in Lagos, using a 40-feet container, which they falsely claimed contained steel doors.

A Nigerian internet fraudster who ran a Match.com online dating scam to con seven men out of more than £100,000 by getting them to send her cash in exchange for a date has been nabbed by policemen in the UK.
 
According to Dailymail, the woman identified as Grace Akintaro, 24, pretended to be 'Amanda Jenson' and even spoke to at least two of her victims on the phone, persuading them to send her money for travel and expenses ahead of romantic rendezvous.

Woman Allegedly Sets 12-year-old Child Ablaze for Stealing N1000


A 34-year-old woman on Wednesday appeared before an Ogudu Magistrates’ Court in Lagos for allegedly setting her 12-year-old foster child ablaze.
 
The accused, Uzoma Austin, who resides at 5, Adesoji St., Agiliti, Mile 12 area of Lagos, was docked on a two-count injuring by explosive substance and causing grievous harm.

10 Killed, 6 Missing As Boko Haram Raid Communities Around Chibok


At least five persons were, on Sunday, killed and six others missing, following simultaneous attacks by Boko Haram insurgents on Komdi and Tuyan villages near Chibok in the Southern part of Borno State.        
 
Indigenes of the villages, including hunters, told SaharaReporters that the terrorists stormed the villages at about 6 pm. Komdi is less than two kilometers from Tuyan, which is about 12 kilometers from Chibok town, where the global outrage-inducing 2014 abduction of over 200 school girls took place.

Daar Communications recorded N2.1 billion loss in 2016


According to a notice posted on the Nigerian Stock Exchange on Tuesday, the company’s total revenue for the year under review was N3.732 billion in contrast with N7.089 billion recorded same period in 2015.
The results, the company said, represented 47 percent decline in its revenue earnings.
The notice showed further that the company’s costs of sales for the period was N4.9 billion against N5.1 billion recorded in the year 2015.

Police arrest 124 rapists, sodomites in Kano


A total of 124 suspected rapists and sodomites have been arrested by the police within three months in Kano state.
Parading the suspects before newsmen, the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Magaji Musa Majia said the police had recorded 115 cases of rape, sodomy and other acts of gross indecency in the state between April and June, 2017.
