Anthony Joshua has revealed the 'massive' sense of disappointment he felt when Wladimir Klitschko announced his retirement and ended their plans for a rematch in Las Vegas.

The IBF and WBA heavyweight champion had been expected to defend his titles against Klitschko in a lucrative match-up at the T-Mobile Arena on November 11.

Woman Docked For Calling Ex-Husband’s Mother ‘Witch’


A woman, Fati Mohammed, yesterday appeared before a Minna Magistrates’ Court, charged with calling her former mother-in-law, Fati Aliyu, a witch.

The accused was arraigned in court following a direct criminal complaint filed by Aliyu. Aliyu alleged that Mohammed called her a witch after demanding that she returned the five-year-old child she had for her former husband to her.

Police Arrest Five For Impersonating Journalists


The Nigeria Police Force yesterday announced the arrest of five persons who had allegedly specialised in impersonating journalists to gain access to important occasions so as to steal expensive phones and other items.

A statement signed by Mr Jimoh Moshood, the Force’s spokesman, said that those arrested included the gang leader, one Musa Auwalu, 43, from Kano, Kolawole Akinbode, 50, from Ogun and Umar Abba, 53, from Adamawa.

A knifeman wearing a fake suicide belt wounded at least eight people in a frenzied attack in a Russia this morning. The Siberian knifeman, named locally as 23-year-old Bobichel Abdurakhmanov, was shot dead by police in a busy main street in Surgut, central Russia, at about 11.20am.

Sunday alongside two other policemen were asked to settle a land dispute issue between two communities in the area.

For threatening to kill all of New York City’s LGBTI police officers, a Christian Youth pastor,Daniel Silvera, 26, is in jail. He was arraigned yesterday in Manhattan criminal court. He is facing a multitude of charges including aggravated harassment as a hate crime. 

During court hearing he admitted to having craeted a Gmail account to send the emails. On 28 July, he wrote to the Gay Officers threatening to kill them and every other gay NYPD cop.

Nigerian Pilgrims beaten by Saudi Arabian Police


Saudi Arabian police have beaten two Nasarawa pilgrims as a result of which one them sustained head injuries. According to our findings, the pilgrims who arrived last Wednesday were detained at the Medina airport for nine hours before the incident.

The House of Representatives does not intend to issue a formal  response to the fresh label of ‘unarmed robbers’ pinned on federal legislators on Thursday by  former President Olusegun Obasanjo, it was learnt yesterday.
Obasanjo,speaking at a book  presentation in Ibadan on Thursday, had described the legislators as a bunch of  unarmed robbers because,as he said, “they are one of the highest  paid in the world where we have 70 per cent of our people living in abject poverty.”

'Disabled' man rapes autistic teen inside a Brooklyn park


An autistic teenager was sexually assaulted inside a Brooklyn park, police said Friday.

The 17-year-old girl was on her way home from school when she got off the wrong bus stop Wednesday afternoon, sources said.

The teen spent several hours trying to get home before she was approached by her attacker who asked if she needed help.
