A pastor with one of the white garment churches in Ogun State, Waleola Sunday, has been sentenced to three years imprisonment without an option of fine by an Akure Chief Magistrate Court for defiling male children in his neighbourhood. Waleola, who is employed as a Prophet in a Cherubim and Seraphim church in Okearo Street in Akure, the state capital, has the penchant for seducing male students and playing with their manhood.

Local man Simon Williams has applied for custody of his wife’s breasts as part of his divorce settlement according to online reports.

Gov. Al-Makura’s son to face manslaughter charge

Mr. Khaleel Umar Al-Makura, the son of Nasarawa state governor, Umar Al-Makura, is to to be prosecuted for alleged manslaughter. He was arrested over the killing of a student of Government Secondary School, Lafia.

The police say that Khaleed would be charged soon. The killing of Ovye Amos in a road accident on Monday night had sparked a protest in the school.

NDLEA arrests drug barons, IDPs in Borno

The Nigeria Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) said it arrested 10 drug barons and 60 Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) for alleged drug abuse and sale in IDP camps.

The Commandant of the agency in Borno, Mr Ona Ogilegwu, on Wednesday in Maiduguri said that the 10 barons were nabbed while attempting to enter the camps to distribute the hard drugs for sale.

Pastor Attempts to Bomb Church in Edo State because He Was “Unfairly Dismissed”

A Pastor identified as Abel Eku has been arrested by the Edo State Police Command for attempting to bomb the headquarters of the Christ Chosen Church of God in Edo state after his dismissal from the church.

Edward Herbert, 43, is accused of pouring petrol over his three-year-old in front of his partner after a day of drinking and smoking cannabis at their home in Perth, Australia.

He then set the girl on fire and poured petrol over his seven-year-old daughter.

His younger daughter was left with burns to her face and upper body and required surgery and laser scar management.

Cerebrospinal Meningitis outbreak in Niger State has killed at the least 16 people. The state Commissioner for Health, Dr. Mustapha Jibril, revealed this in Minna.

Five suicide bombers hit Maiduguri, kill 3 people

Borno State was hit by series of blasts early Wednesday with three locations around Muna Garage area of Maiduguri metropolis targeted in an attack which involved five suicide bombers.

The incidents occurred at about 4 am, according to PRNigeria.

PRNigeria reports the first target of the attack was Muna Kumbori an unofficial host community camp housing 199 internally displaced persons.

A 15-year-old girl from Chicago was apparently sexually assaulted by five or six men or boys while the horrific ordeal was streamed on social media.

Despite 40 people watching the live video, nobody reported the attack to police, authorities said Tuesday.

ASUU rejects pay cut, says Nigerian lecturers least paid in Africa

The Owerri zone of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, rose from its meeting in Awka yesterday, vowing to resist any move by proprietors of public–owned universities to cut the salaries of university lecturers.

Addressing reporters after the meeting, the Owerri zone ASUU, comprising Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike, Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Uli and Imo State University, Owerri, regretted that in spite of the fact that lecturers in Nigerian Universities were the least paid in Africa, they still suffer the problem of irregular payment of salaries and shortfall in salary provisions.

Four girls on penultimate Saturday got drown in River Danko in Galadimawa community, outskirt of Abuja. The river is now dreaded as residents said there were more deaths in it, recalling that a motorcyclist also drowned in it barely two days after the death of the girls.
